So addicted! Set eggs 10/14/11! Who's my buddy?

Well mine should be hatching sometime tomorrow, or I hope so. I thought about taking an LED flashlight and putting it to the egg of the egg to see if the chick had come through the membrane yet with out picking it up, since I heard that it isn't good to pick them up right now. I am just so worried about them this is really make me worry. You know when there is something that you can't wait for or wait to get, and it literally makes you start to physically hurt, I am there. I couldn't sleep last night, I am so afraid that my humidity isn't high enough, which I kepted it up to 55 to 57 percent until day 18 then i bumped it up to 68 to 73 percent. I hope they just start to come out. This whole this is just addicting.

I plan on making a garden next year like I did this year. I let my chickens run part of the day and mu garden is fenced off so nothing gets in there, but sometimes I might throw them something fresh out of the garden is there anything they can't eat out of a garden? I didn't really have a good garden this year but I have about 15 to 20 different vegetables for next year and didn't know if anything would hurt them.

Not sure about hurting them but they will eat your cabbage lol

My first pipper chick has a boot on her crooked toes and is doing well, the other 2 will not fluff up in or out of the brooder. One has a vaulted skull I think! Omg...they are the cutest tiniest things. And friendly. My 3 year old held one and it snuggled in her hand and just sat there. They come up to drink water off my fingertips. They don't really like the chick waterer...its kinda tall for them. It was fine for my standard chicks but not great for silkies. As for the egg I opened that thought was dead..amazingly she is still alive. And she is actually starting to chirp and the vessels are getting smaller! Its soooo amazing. I should take pics. I had rewet the membrane because it was opaque again and it couldn't move. I will be shocked if she survives...but I can only wet the membrane as much as possible and wait for the vessels to recede.

I had a garden this year and my chickens ate it all. I finally had to make it chicken proof. They ate the tomatoes off the vine, sunflower seeds, they particularly love lettuce and collards. I had to replant everything, twice. Mine are let out of the coop every morning and they have free range to eat what they want. So when they ravaged the garden they only ate what they liked. Which was most of it
