So addicted! Set eggs 10/14/11! Who's my buddy?

That really sucks for both of you!!! Is fused toes that bad? I still have the early pipper thats made no progress since slightly enlarging the hhole. I do have another pipper that has raised a tiny spot...almost indiscernible pip.

My little fuzzy butts!

Did you float test your other eggs to be sure? I'm pretty sure my first pipper is shrinkwrapped. Its pushing 34 hours at least since it pipped. She just pecks at the same spot in the hole but isn't progressing. Since she pipped with the humidity between 45 and 55 and then I had to open it to get the mat out and that took a few minutes I'm 99% positive she's shrinkwrapped. However...she is still chirping strongly and she's trying to do something. I'm gonna leave her in there as long as I can in hopes she can do it herself. The other pipper is progressing and I hope once she's out, she might be able to convince this one to come out.

I'm not sure how to conduct a float test. Any info would be helpful tho.

I know its hard to watch them struggle just keep a close eye and read up on how to assist if need be!

I got a baby!!! I think its a partridge silkie. As for my first pipper that I thought I shrinkwrapped...it was weakly chirping and not moving, so I decided to intervene. Thank God...I've never seen shrinkwrapped like this. It was like she was incased in a leather bag. The shell just crumbled off no problem. I wet the membrane real well and zipped it but left the top and bottom shell on. Then I wrapped it in a sopping warm cloth and left just the beak exposed. The membrane was so tough and dried to the feathers on her face. I didn't peel any of the membrane because the membrane underneath had tiny spidery barely visible blood vessels. She didn't bleed at all but I thought it best to let her finish the job if possible. Also I didn't know if the vessels were still actually active or not so she can absorb it if need be. I can't believe how tough that membrane can get. I also have another pip...barely discernable. I'm soooo thrilled. My husband and daughter finally got to see a chick hatch. My husband was really into it even though he acts like he could care less.
