Hello, My name on here is Becoming Country. Which you may consider strange since I've lived in the country my whole life. But I hit that 50 mark a few years back and found myself with time on my hands with kids finally off living their own lives. So I started gardening, and this year took the giant step to raising chickens. I ordered 50 cornish cross for roasters for the freezer, and 12 Rhode Island Reds for layers. It was a crazy busy summer, and through a bunch of trials and tribulations, I'm down to 6 Rhode Island Reds which I am thouroughly enjoying. Whodathought me a chicken rancher...I have been coming to this site all summer long looking for answers to my questions, and finally decided to join. Love all the great information here.
