So exciting! First timer and a chick has pipped!

I had to tell someone! I'm so excited!

Under a broody hen or incubator? Either way try not to disturb the eggs until the hatch is complete. Broody hens get upset and hatching eggs are easily crushed. Opening an incubator will throw off the temperature and humidity. Be patient...and is that hard!

The pip has hatched! 18 hours of hard work has paid off for the little'un! No other have pipped yet though and the chick is rolling the eggs all over the place, will they be ok?

Don't worry, the unhatched eggs will not be harmed by the chick that is hatched. Do not open the incubator; a drop in humidity could have serious consequences. Good luck.
