Hello, and welcome! What breed of chicken's did you get?

Well, I don't have them yet....getting some this week...I'm thinking on I want to start with beautiful eggs, possibly marans, speckled sussex, SLW, Welsummer?? Hoa says only 8 hens Would love to have some real auracanas or ameraucanas... All the farm stores around here sell hybrids for blueish eggs & because of 8 limit, I can't get enough chicks to place an order with a hatchery. We raised them while living in Alaska, they are SO sweet & obvi hardy!
Would love to hear opinions on 8 pretty egg hens!
I got a feeling, Imma gonna love it here at BYC!

So, you are no longer living in Alaska? Well, no matter where you live at now, pick the breed's that will do best for your area's climate and weather.
