Well was worried my first year Mandarin breeders were throwing dud eggs. I had a hen hatch 2 in her box....1 white and 1 split. But then none of the other eggs from her and another hen were showing any signs of hatching. I moved the eggs into the Sportsman and what do you know my total right now is....

4 Regular Ducklings
2 White Ducklings(1 that hatched in the box disapeered in the pen)
2 eggs pipping

I'm pretty happy with these numbers for the number of eggs layed and these girls all being first years in this pen. I will try and get some pics of them uploaded....I still need to get pics of my pure Peach golden pair. And here is a good pic of my first lavender turkey hatch!

Cool pic, tahnks for posting.

I used to have black spanish turks but when we moved I had to sell them all. I didn't know mandrains would lay eggs at one year old, you must have good bloodlines. Where did u get them?

Mandarins, ringed teal, wood ducks all commonly lay there first year. The number of eggs in a clutch are often low but get better there second year.
