I am so sorry.
I understand some of what you are going through as I have Trigeminal Neuralgia. It is considered one of the most painful disorders that humans can suffer (not looking for pity just to give you some background). Often anti-seizure medications can help those who have it. They gave me various medications for 9 years until nothing worked anymore and I was finally put on large doses of steroids. I was often admitted to the hospital and put in a mild comma for a few days at a time for the pain because it was excruciating. My adrenal glands started shutting down (from the drugs) which can be fatal. I decided (well really no decision left) to have brain surgery. First one failed--desperation made me have a second one. I got pulmonary embolisms from the surgery (blood clots in my lungs) but somehow survived and had to spend another week in ICU
. Although they said the second surgery failed I have been essentially pain free for 5 years!
I can tell you it is amazing when the pain is gone. Life is sooo fabulous. I am a new person and the journey taught me a lot about perseverance and enabled me to change my priorities.
My point is to NEVER give up. Lupus is also an awful thing to bear and it can be so frustrating and life changing. I recommend trying acupuncture if you haven't yet. You also can ask about stem cell injections (they use your own stem cells from fat). I'm not sure they allow it to be used for people yet but they do for dog's arthritis and many improve greatly. Lupus could possibly improve with probiotics and with certain diet changes. Holistic mushroom powders are another possibility--they help many for cancer (my own dog's lymphoma "mysteriously" disappeared after using Mycoplex 7, a mushroom complex (typically used for blood cancers), and some can reboot the immune system. Maybe they can help with Lupus as it is considered an autoimmune disorder. Do more research even if you already have as new things are always being discovered. I send you many good thoughts and clarity to think outside the box.
