It is very cool here for wester SD in June and raining, a all day soaker kind of rain, I just took scraps down to my chickens, and there is mama hen with little tiny heads sticking out all over, under wings, between wings and back, under her breast. Then they pop out and run all over, and then back again for a warm up.

With out her, they would be in a much smaller container (than the whole outdoors) and under a heat lamp, and I would be worrying is it too hot, is it too cold.

Broody hens are the best way to raise chicks.

Which came first the broody or the incubator?....mum's the word.

The broody wins every time over artificial attempts to emulate her.
