Yes. Do you have a secure coop? Do you need brooding advice? I wouldn't recommend more than 10 to start. 5 would probably be best. If you get a boy you can always take up hatching to add to your flock.

How big is your coop and run, will you let them free range?

I do free range for my chickens so why not my ducks! I do have a run though so I will probably use in in the fall when all the predators are hungry. My coop is big enough to fit the amount of ducks I want and will be bigger once I expand it.

We are new to poultry and started with 12 ducks and 1 goose. Well actually we started with 6 ducks and within a week my wife doubled the ducks and added a goose... I had to mandate a hard stop at 12 or I'm afraid we would have even more already. So far I don't think there would be much difference in work/labor effort between 6-12. We have had them for about 6-7 weeks now and love it. Good luck on your duck adventure!

Order sexed ducklings so you don't get extra boys or any boys if you don't want them. Ratio is 4 girls for every boy.

She ain't kidding! I had 3 to 1 and the boys were aggressive so I had to take 5 they were delicious.
