So how mean are roosters anyway?

Yes, I think some roosters are plain mean. I have just culled my nine-month-old boy after he attacked me for the third time. Little so-and-so snuck up and tried to spur me when I was feeding the hens. Third strike and out means he got a fair chance. The hens actually seem happier without his constant sexual demands. And I'm really enjoying the peace without his non-stop crowing. Plus, I turned him into a lovely curry after his demise. Chicken cocka-vindaloo anyone?

I got 3 roosters, they were to be hens. I hand raised them from chicks. They turned out to be the sweetest things in the world. They sit on my shoulder and sleep on my lap. They are very nice to the hens as well.
If they were mean, I would get them out. You never want a mean rooster. Our friends keep them until they get mean, if they do, then they sell them.
