So I guess this one is a cockerel?

5.5 week old Wyandotte. Comb is pretty pink for a girl, though I have read that Wyandottes can get pink combs early.

They can definitely be tricky. Any wattles coming in?
Wattles are about the same size as my other chicks but definitely a bit too pink for my liking.
I guess I could have a rooster. Someone comfort me by telling me how beautiful and good-natured Wyandotte roosters are please lol

I will. I've had three Wyandotte roosters and two Wyandotte crosses, and I currently have a Wyandotte cockerel. Out of my older boys, every single one of them were very well-behaved. They never balded my hens, none were human aggressive, they were very alert when free ranging, and they're absolutely gorgeous to look at. My head roo, Draco, would always follow me around the yard. He loved eating from my hands and would tolerate being held. I've downsized my flock and only have three chicks, two Wyandotte pullets and a cockerel. The cockerel has been fine so far, but he's only 5 weeks old and still has some maturing to do. We'll see how he turns out.

Thank you I’m still holding out hope for a hen but otherwise this will help soften the blow!
