I have to turn the channel. They upset DH too but he watches them through. We adopt all of our animals and donate to a no kill shelter in the next town over. So far we have not adopted from there but we found a dog we could not keep. They agreed to take her. She also needed a surgery on her eye, which they payed for. So we donated some treats and collars, now I send them a little $ when I can. The shelter we have adopted from is NOT a no kill. I have a hard time going in there and not coming home with something. I feel so guilty and want to rescue them all.
 
I used to work at a shelter that was used for at least one or more of those pedigree commercials.....wanna be surprised? They brought in their own dogs. As in, those dogs are ACTORS portraying shelter dogs. they didn't want to use shelter dogs apparently. So yes, shelter dogs were moved from cages so that they could be empty for the actor dogs to use. Genius.
 
I mute the TV and turn away. There is one now that has Wendy Malik as spokesperson. It isn't the ASPCA but a worldwide association. They are horrid. And I can't listen to "Arms Of An Angel" now without thinking about a shaking boxer mix breed dog.
