So I have poison oak...

x2 I've gone 8+ hrs of no itching from doing that.

Also if you live near the ocean, go soak in it for a while. That helps immensely.

Thanks MFB.

I don't live near the ocean, but I guess it'd be the same in an aquarium? Got that covered.

I have an elderly neighbor who has cancer. The other day I was pulling some vines off his house and stacking some wood for him...I'm guessing I got into it there. I wasn't looking for it. Haven't had it since I was a kid...forgot how miserable the stuff is.

I guess the saying "no good deed goes unpunished" holds true in your case. I hope it's a small area. If it spreads go to your doctor the shot takes the itch away in a couple of hours. Feel better I really feel for you.

Yeah, I didn't notice it until the rash came up.

I tend to start working and I have tunnel vision until I'm done.

I'm guessing you have it on your FACE? OUCH!

My daughter got it on her lips, and all over her face when she put poison oak leaves in her mouth.

She was 14 or 15 at the time, you'd think she would know better.

I couldn't even imagine that. I have it on my arm, and won't even go outside without a long sleeve shirt.

If I had it on my face...I'd not leave the house until it was gone. I'm pretty vain though.

In my experience it is a good burning. My husband gets it a lot and he swears by it. He tried the cream but that stops it from itching and then later it will drain and the fluid draining will make is spread. Alcohol will dry it out so that it doesn’t spread and just goes away. And make sure not to reuse towels that touched those body parts of yours with the outbreak. My hubbys brother gave himself a full body outbreak after reusing the towel. Good luck Em!
