So I really shouldn't kiss my chickens???

Yep . . . loads of difference between the nice clean outdoors and a public restroom in my mind. We go backpacking and never think twice about how clean . . . or unclean . . . we may be. A public restroom, however, makes me wish I had my own personal hazmat team

I've had measles twice and chicken pox four times, and no flu shot has managed to keep me from getting some form of flu every year. I find the only relief from all sorts of germies is a nice long cuddle with a chicken or a few licks on the neck from a dog who may or may not have been using that tongue just a moment before to lick up chicken droppings. Life is grand

I think that one thing we are forgetting here is that in order for us to catch salmonella from our chickies they have to be carrying it. I have a child with severe asthma and eczema so therefore a compromised immune system. He kisses our chickens, too.

He has had a LOT of stuff but nothing that came from our chickens.

I kiss mine on the back of their heads. I try not to kiss the fronts of their faces/ chests because who knows how much chicken poop they've laid in! I figure the back of their head is the cleanest place...

I feel so cool after soooooo many of you replied to my post!

LOL, My litle sickie chick Tink gives the kisses!
i open the lid on the brooder and she flies up on me and gently pokes (not pecks) my lip when i make kissy noises. She is a real baby though.

Now to gross you out. She pigged out on water yesterday then immediatly came up to see me. she gave me a kiss and 2 seconds later puked water up on my shirt and arm...YUCK:lol:

As far as germs go I have public restroom 'rituals' too! First of all i have a freshette which I used to just use camping/boating but now I carry it everywhere! (lol I call it my girlie wein*#..!) so I don't have to sit to go #1. i also keep chlorox anysurface spray in the car (travel size) so I will spray, handles, seat, faucet.....

ummm, too much information?!? LMAO!

how does a freshette help to not have to sit? i'm picturing freshette as some towelette thing...but if it's a girlie thingy, i'm confused. never tmi!!
