I've considered Etsy for my crafts, basically, I can make a lot of camping and "survival" type stuff. What made me decide against it is, first, I'd need a PayPal, and if you're anti-PayPal that's a problem. I decided that I was willing to take the plunge until I learned that PayPal will now keep track of all transactions and issue a 1099 or 1099's for anything over 200 transactions a YEAR, over $20k in money passing through, or sales to any person totaling over $600 a year.
Face-to-face, and cash, is my only way now.
I'd avoid putting quilts you've put real work into into a "yard sale" atmosphere. I'd check out farmer's markets, church sales, craft-group sales, sales through a local museum or arts group, stuff like that. You can try Craig's List but for me it's not been anywhere near as good as face-to-face.
