I think even if you have good self esteem, living with someone who lies, cheats, abuses you, treats your children badly, etc., can MAKE you unhappy. How could it not? Sometimes the only way to not allow them to do these things is to stop being married to them.

YES! I totally agree with that Hiker! OR SSS and collect the insurance..

BUt honestly, i agree...i could never settle for that....i know some people do..and its their business ..and i respect their decision also. I feel bad and very angry inside for them..
but in the end..its their business.

1: Its illegal..
2: you could ruin a good pair of shoes in the process..

My dh and I met when we were both divorced and let me tell you...I wish I had met him first. this man is awesome. He is so in-tuned to female moods and oh, so patient. He is nine years younger than I am but I think, God didn't think he needed as much training when He sent him to me.

What on earth would make someone attracted to a Lying., Cheating, Abusive person.

Maybe Low self esteem?

FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

Holly O ~ I think low self-esteem for sure could be a contributing factor. I also think people learn a lot from the way they grew up, and who they had as role models. You know, like, how did the father treat mother and vice versa? I have a baby now and I told my husband I am going to teach him to respect women. When he is old enough I hope to teach him to open doors for women/girls and such. I hope my husband can pick up on that also, because if my little Gabriel learns by Dad's example (like I was saying earlier) then he won't be opening any doors...argh! I am feeling kind of sad now
