So many mosquitoes!

Is there a "chicken safe" method of getting rid of, eliminating, or discouraging mosquitoes? I have absolutely no standing water in my yard other than my puppies water bowl, and my chick waterers. All of which get cleaned out frequently. However, there are lakes not too far from me, and I suspect stagnant water in neighbors yards. I would spray something in the yard, but honestly I'm not sure what would be chicken safe.

I feel your pain, I'm in LA and the mosquitoes can get quite bad here 2. Now we have also had a lot of issues with gnats here in the past month. A few of my friends even lost birds to the gnats. So I make sure to put DE out around the coop and nesting boxes and I also sprayed the coop and run down with vanilla mixed with water. Then I went to the Dollar store and got some cheap vanilla scented air fresheners and hung them up around the inside of the coop and it has helped with the gnats tremendously. Not sure if it is a coincidence but it seems to me like it's helped with the mosquitoes also!

I think the DE was for the gnats/larvae.

Still not sure how that should work. Then again, DE is the new "Windex" LOL

DE can harm chickens lungs
I would say put in a bat house or several bat houses. If they are good the bats will find them and move into them.

There are also mosquito plants that are said to repel them.

I don't have many mosquitos so have not tried them.
