We're using what is in essence a bear fence. I can pm you a link to where we got it later tonight. We have a fox near our yard and loose dogs, they touch that fence it'll knock the crap out of them and they won't go back. Don't forget the owls, we have them along with the Eagle and Hawks.

Sorry for your loss but right now on Craigslist you'll find everyone is selling chicks, some are smoking weed with the prices they're asking but others are more reasonably priced.

I always thought mink would just drink the blood? My granparents always had problems with them. We'd find dead birds everywhere that looked like they just up and died for no reason. Until we found the little vampire bites hidden under the feathers on their necks. However, racoons just eat the heads, and they can easily scale a fence. So sorry about your babies. Hope you catch whatever it is.

Is the fence electric? I have kids I don't want them shocked. I am wondering if we put the dog closer to the fence, if he would scare them away.

I read on the internet that the mink don't just drink the blood that it is a myth...but you never know with the stuff you find on the internet.

For now my surviving babies are locked in the shed, where only a beaver could get in..

I did just order chicks today. No one on craigslist has the kinds I wanted

I was also able to order an ornamental layer collection which hopefully should be pullets (I am sure I will have a couple of roosters anyway)
