You're right he does! I never noticed that before. Yes he is deaf as well. Lurchie and I were talking tonight at the dog park when we noticed that Katie didn't chase lights or shadows when she was involved with the other dogs. We're really thinking that Kane will help her get rid of that behavior and have someone her own size to play with. She gets a little too ruff with the Luna kitty at times. Katie is really learning the handsignals. I think the trainer a PetSmart thought I was crazy. Katie is distracted by all the comings and goings at the store as the training area is smack dab in the middle of the store. She took Katie to the back corner of the store last week and she did every single command she asked for with out a pause. I've been using a vibrating collar with her too to catch her attention when we are outside. No shock at all. It's like a cell phone vibrating.
LOL yes, I refuse to make this disease part of my life. It's there. I'll deal with it as it needs to be done, but I won't make it a focal point. It's like a zit. It's a major irritant and bugs the crap out of you until it comes to a head. Then you can pop it and be done with the thing.
You know the part the bugs me the most???
I'm gonna have to get one of those dang ports again!
well, coyote, that is not the news I was hoping for either. I logged on this morning to see how it went. I will start the full throttle hope and pray waves.
and laughter is the best medicine, that and a positive attitude. You seem to have those.
Luna is correct about puppy love. I think they are beautiful kids, and anyone who gets them will be blessed.
I noticed the title of the thread changed, and I think it is a great thing to use it to help encourage other people.

Interesting. My endocrinologist (I have hashimotos thyroiditis) recommended this book. http://www.pinkribbon.org/Anticancer/Food/tabid/443/Default.aspx Very interesting reading. Lurching and I have been doing lots of talking now we have to be serious. The way I've been eating is doing nothing but killing me. No more Dr. Pepper (Gasp!) How come they can't make convience foods that are good for you? I love good food, but I admit I am a sugar addict. I have so many food allergies that when I find something I can eat I stick with it. So now I am back to cooking everyday from scratch.
was contacted by the folks that have the puppy. I've given them all of my contact info for my vet and 2 people that work for rescues. One of them had the first Service Dog to ever be in the White House. His name was Reggie.
When we went to puppy class today, Lurchie went and picked out a collar, harness and less for the boy. They are calling him Midnight right now because he was dropped off in the middle of the night. We thought about calling him Kane, but I don't know, it just doesn't sound right for him. I came up with Kandu. As in he kan-du anything any other dog can do!

Great info on those sites. The funny thing is, I always ate good food (food that's good for you
) LOVE my veggies and hardly eat fast food or fried stuff and try very hard to avoid sugar except as a rare treat. During chemo I CRAVED the crap food
so I ate it - small amounts, but I did eat it. Now I can't look at it and I'm back to the good foods again. All those anti cancer foods I eat all the time. Then I got cancer. Life is a crap shoot. Who knew?
But, I'm not one to say "oh well, I'll just eat crap anyway, since that didn't help me any" NO WAY. Can you imagine where I'd be if I didn't eat well? But then again you never know. I was reading the newspapers this morning, the Press is donating a percentage of their sales to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the newspapers were pink today.
While I was reading the obits I noticed my aunt had died. She was 91 and smoked like a chimney. She was married to my uncle who died of cancer of the throat (he too was a heavy smoker) He died in 1983 at age 67.
Coyote I know you are allergic to many things and that has to be hard for you, but you gotta get those yellow, green, orange and red veggies into your system! And they make wonderful flax cereals that taste great with blueberries or raisans. The more sugar you eat the more you want, when you cut back you don't really crave it anymore
Hello, sorry I don't check in very often. Sometimes, it's hard to know what to say, but all of you are always in my thoughts.
I did think it might be helpful to mention that my sister, who turned 60 yesterday, is now a 16 year survivor of a particularly nasty double dose of breast cancer. She sends prayers and thoughts of strength and perseverence to you all, as do I.
