Hi Luna

I have been watching this thread and praying for you! I am happy to hear that your first chemo session went well! Just take care of yourself!! You are ALLOWED to nap when you need it, eat ice cream for lunch and hog the TV in the evening! (or whatever you want to do!!!!)

If you want to add some chuckles to your life, you need a new ringtone. Go to www.phonezoo.com On the top line in the search box, type in : hip hop chicken (my tech savy daughter swears that it is totally free to download). But you can just listen if you like. But if you are like me, you will want to download it!!! (My friends already think that I am crazy for raising chickens!) If you want to download it to your phone, you have to become a member (free).

Keep us posted on how you are doing!!

Cindy

PS I already have "CRS" or "Can't Remember Sh*t" and I have never had a chemo session. So, at least you have a good excuse!!!

Thank you Cindy.

Well, I went to have blood work today, and they said it was a little low, I expected that, so did they, but not extreme (BTW I feel GREAT!) - so they gave me a shot and I go tomorrow for a shot and then again on Monday for a shot. Then Tuesday I do more blood work. I guess it goes with the territory, they monitor you and keep you UP with the cell count before you get hit with the next chemo treatment.

I just didn't know you had to go there so often for this and that. I guess I'm learning now. At least I get a whole week off with the medical stuff before May 12 when I get my next dose of chemo.

Right now, besides typing

I'm making cheese & parsley Italian sausages grilled then served with sauteed peppers and onions on good crusty bread. Cooking has been fun lately!

Ya'll can get good ol' crust bread up there. For some reason we can't get bread unless it's in a plastic wrapper. Everytime I go up I pick up a couple of loaves that we eat in a matter of days, lol. My DH didn't know what I meant by crusty Italian bread until I took him home to Jersey. Guess there are no Italians in Iowa.

NJ is such a mixing pot of cultures. Where I grew up down in Milliville we had a lot of Russian immigrents. Vineland had a lot of Italian. Bridgeton had a lot of Swedish, Irish and English. In between you would find lots of Jewish people from all over. Pasta on Wednesday, no meat on Friday, Locks and Bagles for breakfast. Stores would close downtown at noon on Wed because that was the market day. Everybody would go to the market to stock up for the week. It was fun introducing my husband to all new kinds of foods. He is a meat and 'taters guy from the midwest. Even now he turns to me when we come across something new and ask, "Do I eat that?!" If I eat it I know he will.

My counts were only down once and I had to have a transfusion. Glad they could take care of yours with one of those shots. You are doing so good with this!!

How's that hair? scalp feeling funny?

Luna,
You sound like you are doing great! I am so glad for you! My Mom does shots on Saturday mornings at her clinic - I always think "good grief - you would think these poor people could get a day off!" (Not the nurses - the patients) There does seem to be a lot of coming and going and checking involved in chemo. Congratulations on having a good appetite - I wish you were cooking at my house though!

Coyote - Iowa! Really? Which quarter?

Take care all!

Jenny
