So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

Luna, I wish the doctor would tell me to start watching for hair growth. It seems that each time a get a hair cut it is getting thinner. The barber keeps telling me that at my age I'm fortunate to have as much hair as I do, but some how that's not much consolation. Come to think of it I have noticed more hair growth as I've aged. It's on my ears and eyebrows. What's up with that?

I'm so glad to read that you are doing so well. You truly have been an inspiration.

Wow Gin, getting your port out so soon. Everyone I've talked with says they have had to have theres for a year or longer after the treatment. Thats amazing news, Your hair will come back soon and you will have time to think about what kind of cut you want. I've decided I'm not going back to my long straight hippie hair. Forty minutes to dry everyday. I'm gonna do a cute, run my hands through it and be done hippie look. I'm so happy your treatments have gone so well. Three more chemo for me, then the good old radiation. Let me know how it goes.

Heres to two hot chicks, no hair and all, kicking cancer to the curb.
Hope you had time for my PM threads and the second one, we really arent crazy. lol

Your friend,

Maybe the weather will improve so you can celebrate without being in a furnace! Your word 'disgusting' really does sum up how it's been for umpteen bazillion weeks with rare brief exceptions. Maybe there will be a little rain today...I fervently hope so as there are so many animals and plants dying..streams I've never seen dry out are nothing but dust.....
In addition to the possible good news of rain, they're promising a weekend where we might not fry. I would pay good money at this point for lower humidity!

I can't believe you all have sweltered for so long this year, while we have had quite the opposite. it is one of the coldest summers on record here. It is the first year I have slept under a down comforter all summer, since temps are in the 50s at night. Daytime, the temps don't usually get up to 70 until about 1-2 in the afternoon. I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat. I LOVE heat!!

Takes me back to the herbal essences commercials of my youth. Do you remember the apricot shampoos? something 'earth..?" It smelled great while you shampooed, and then the next day it smelled sour.
Or the strawberry. yep the 70's were interesting.

I remember those herbal essense shampoos. They were always in a waterfall or something.

Just think Luna, you get your port out, you'll need a REAL tattoo to cover up the scar!!!! Just a little one!!

Chilling--I had mine for almost a year afterwards. Had to go flush it once a month.

Ya they told me I would have to have mine flused once a month. For three of those months I will be getting the radiation[ 60 treatments] everyday so I can have it done on one of those days and then they are going to continue me on a non chemo drug call herceptin every 21 days for the following year. I'm getting that drug now, since the beginning. So I've still got a ways to go.

I'm so proud that Ginny is having such good news. Having cancer and good news makes you feel on top of the world. You go Ginny!!!!!!

P.S. My hair has just enough to use shampoo again. YIPPIE I feel a celebration coming on.
