Ya they told me I would have to have mine flused once a month. For three of those months I will be getting the radiation[ 60 treatments] everyday so I can have it done on one of those days and then they are going to continue me on a non chemo drug call herceptin every 21 days for the following year. I'm getting that drug now, since the beginning. So I've still got a ways to go.

I'm so proud that Ginny is having such good news. Having cancer and good news makes you feel on top of the world. You go Ginny!!!!!!

P.S. My hair has just enough to use shampoo again. YIPPIE I feel a celebration coming on.

Yup I took Herceptin. Is your Cancer Her2+? Make sure they are doing ultra sounds or muga scans of your heart every couple of months. I have developed Autonomic Dysfunction Syncope because of it. Basicly it means at any given time, my blood pressure will drop way down while my heart rate shoots up off the chart and I usually end up kissing the floor. You don't know when it's gonna happen, it just does. Oh well, somethingelse to keep me amused, lol

Thank you! I think it took this to make me see how strong of a person I really was. I was Stage 3 given a 30% chase of surviving 3 years. Well, I'm 75% of the way there. I am 2 years into this mess. It's going to take more than Cancer to take me out. I have too much stuff to do. Quilts!! I have tons of quilts to finish!!!!!

Hi Sara! The cancer they found was stage 1, so finding it early and my prognosis is why I can have the port taken out so soon.

I had asked the oncology nurse one day when I could have the port out, they don't like that question because it's different for each patient. In my case - they assumed about 3 months after I'm done. BUT the doc said next month. I'll go with that! I had to really learn to ignore that thing. It bugs me to no end. I'm constantly scratching at it. I think I might ask the surgeon if I can have it back when they take it out so I can bury it in my backyard and have a funeral for it. Well, maybe not.

I'm going to read your pig and snake thread when I'm done here. Can't wait.

JJ - It's in the 70's right now! Cloudy and breezy! No rain though, but I'll take this! How are you doing? Did I read right that you had the flu? Yikes. I hope you have recovered and enjoy this nice break we're getting. How are your birds doing?

No shampoo for me yet. I did buy some bodywash that has rosemary in it and I use that on my head. I read somewhere that rosemary stimulates hair growth. If that's true, I have to be careful where I put that wash.........

You can still get that herbal essence shampoo! That scent brings back lots of memories. Yes the 70's were very interesting.

Coyote - I LOVE your attitude. I'm so rooting for you! 75% there and you're on top of it.

You are such a nice man.

Hey Orp - If we're getting cooler weather here now, is it possible that you might be getting some heat your way? The way the weather has been behaving, you never know.
