Well he slept all day yesterday and last night on the couch, and I don't mean lying down, he sat up propped with pillows. He was prescribed oxycodone (percocet) after reading for the side effects i wonder if this stuff is making him a zombie. He isn't very coherent.....thinks today is Sunday and can't really hold a glass of water. His RA is acting up in his neck so he can't prop himself up because it caused a strain on his shoulders. I told him I'm calling for help in a little while, do I call 911? I never did this before, and I have to convince him too that he has to go............I'll check in later, please wish us some luck

Since his current condition (while bad) isn't life threatening, is there anyone who could help you get him there besides and ambulance? If not, I would look up the non-emergency number in the phone book. They might tell you to call 911, but probably will route your call to the right person, and using the non-emergency number keeps the 911 line open for emergencies. Mostly, you need help transporting him, not a vehicle capable of life-support.

Luna, I hope your husband gets relief. I am sorry you all are going through all of this.

let us know later how the day went. Could a physical therapist help until they fit him in to the 'special' machine? That is a very long wait, Nov 2. That seems odd. Meanwhile, everything else is seizing up. The machine won't cure what he has, just tell them what it is. There is too much reliance on machines anymore, but it seems to be how they justify the bills. I am sorry this is happening.

I don't know what to say....I go away for a while and you two have all kinds of stuff going on. Luna, I'm sure you are working on getting hubby some help. Back pain and his type of injury sounds so painful. Good luck today. How many week's left on your treatment? Must be about half way there, maybe?

And CM what are we going to do with you?! I'd say I'm sorry your dealing with this again( and I am), but I am also really ticked that it had the nerve to show up at your house again. I know you can drive it out...I have seen your courage. You can just add one more warrior to your army, I promise to check in more often. Katie is adorable! Was there some talk of a sibling joining her?

I called the local hospital to inquire on what I should do. They said to call 911, so I did. The guys came over and checked him out and asked him if he wanted to go the hospital. Of course he said "no". I kinda don't blame him either but............I had to do something. The EMTs said that at the hospital they aren't really going to do much for a back problem like that. I explained that it wasn't just the back I was worried about, it's the he can't stand up or move his butt to one side of the cushion for craps sake or hold a glass of water - he has a hard time grasping anything with his hand(s). I thought "he's paralyzed". He's coughing up a lot of junk

and threw up yesterday (I found out later that the oxy does that)

I appreciated the honesty from the EMT guys. They said they see this all the time and all the hospital can do is give him more pain meds and tell him to see an orthopedic doc.

I talked to the orthopedic office while the EMTs were here and the Dr. was out (it's 75 degrees out today, I'm sure he's out on the golf field) He'll call us tomorrow with suggestions. I can't take him to the Dr - I will have to call an ambulance service for that

Anyway, right now he's on his back on the couch. My DD's boyfriend helped me to get him to lay down.

I know it stinks but the soonest we can get him to do the MRI is Nov 2. Any other time before that was during my radiation, so that didn't work out. We're stuck between a rock and a hard place. I feel a little relieved right now, only because he did get looked at and checked over by the EMTs. So now we wait.

Time seems to be getting the best of me. Sorry I haven't been around much. The end of this week the next set of clients leave for the south so I will have more time to be here and do healing work. That will leave one year round set and another set that leaves December.

Unfortunately the moon flowers succumbed to the frost. I have yet to get a bloom. Every year I try and every year I fail. I am determined though. Next year will be the year.

You are ALL in my thoughts.
