I am glad you got him. Maybe younger is better, then he will accept her as 'big sister', and when he knows she comes first in the doggie treat line, then all will be well.
They look good together. I think it will settle out quickly... all will be well.

"Things" aren't going well with Kandu. He's bitten me 5 different times today, 3 pretty good. He's repeatedly attacked Katie for no reason whatsoever and drawn blood. At this point I am at my witts end not knowing what to do.

Chemo tomorrow, yeah

well I go for my pre surgery app dec. 8th. they are going to remove the tumor from my eyelid and nose they said it has legs growing twords my brain and into my sinus cavity. I have to have a complete new eyelid made. dont know about cemo or radiation treatments yet until the 8th

I have two bothers with cancer. My oldest brother was diagnosed with esophogeal (sp) cancer
almost two years ago. They gave him six months to live. Now it is "inconclusive"...they did surgery on his throat and removed the tumor, but he has weird spots on his lungs they are just watching.
those however are not growing or doing anything. He is a big proponent of holistic medicine and does feel that it is doing him some good, especially the massive vitamin c shots.

My other brother was diagnosed with colorectal cancer a year ago. He had surgery which was not
very successful. He has been on chemo since. A few months ago, in the summer, they declared him "cancer free". Now they are saying the tumors are back and furthermore his wife is not being very supportive; she has communicated that she is more concerned about this point about having no
money after he is gone.

Both of my brothers continue to stay positive and continue with full time work and excercise as much as possible. If you ask either of them how they are doing the reply will be "I think I'm doing great".
Attitude does make a huge difference.

my Mother had breast cancer when she was in her early 70's, and had a breast removed. She refused to believe she had cancer though. She lived roughly twenty more years. ATTITUDE DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Oh, also, I learned recently that the chemo is having a very bad effect on my brother's
short term memory. Has anyone else experienced this?

We refer to it as Chemo Brain. It can have short term or long term effects really depends on the person. Can't remember something from 5 minutes ago. Can't remember words even though they are on the tip of your tongue. Can't remember what you were just doing.

Chemo is kind of like Antibiotics. While killing off the bad stuff, it kills a bit of the good stuff to. Chemo goes into your blood stream and flows everywhere. Yes most of it is targeted to kill specific cancer cells but it's got to go around a few things to get to them. That's why we loose our hair, some loose their finger and toe nails, some develop neuropathy, and others Chemo Brain.

Radiation doesn't tend to have these problems because it's directed to a certain spot and doesn't spread out.
