So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

I'm signed up to do the Walk-It Challenge with WW. http://www.weightwatchers.com/util/art/index_art.aspx?tabnum=1&art_id=108981 Basicly in 6weeks you will be able to walk a 5K. For those of you in better shape, they have a plan for running the 5k. Let me know if you can't get it to come up, I'll send you the PDF file.

I "custom" ordered a couple of T-shirst for the race. The back of the shirt will say Walk-It followed by NEW B@@BS NEW BODY! I had to use the @ sign as it wouldn't let me write it using O's lol. I'll post a pic of them when they get here.

Need to get out of here and take Katie for our 10min walk. Anyone with me??!!

well, we went dog shopping. Some of them really needed me. how come they didn't find me first?
There were some older dogs that I would have taken in a blink of an eye, but this needs to be a young dog. The pound was not full and they have them on delay 'check out'. The humane society is a no kill shelter, so the young lady I fell for will be there long enough for the rest of the family to check out the neighboring counties. It is just so much easier when they find you. All of those wagging tails and 'take me home' eyes. There was one guy who kept spinning in circles when you made eye contact. It was like he was saying, 'Look! I do tricks!'

and then the older dogs who were some one's dear pets... did the owner die or have to go to a nursing home? Those were the ones that broke my heart. Some were in the kennels together. you know they were house mates.

Well, hopefully next weekend, we either go get the seven month old mixed/ mix dog, or we find one at petsmart or the neighboring county. The man at the pound said that the puppies are gone by 10:00am... and they get them back six months later.

The girl I like needs a better name than 'butterscotch' though. Our oldest dog is named 'Pumpkin', and our young big Shepard is named 'Jasper'. so we can go vegetable or mineral. Our neighbor's name is 'Amber', it is perfect for the dog, but it may cause confusion or hard feelings. My son suggested 'lime-stone"

HEY!!!! I have a cat named Butterscotch!!

The shelter near us makes me ill. I'm very "sensitive" and I just feel the fear of those poor creatures. Most times they only get 7 days. I knew when I was looking for a new partner, I wouldn't find what I was looking for there. A "friend" of mine undermined my search because she wanted me to adopt someone who didn't speak to my heart. Actually through the rescue she works with, sent out a DNA --Do Not Adopt --on me. Thank Creator that the folks that let us adopt Katie, followed their heart and my other references! What I'm saying here is, I know what you're saying, feeling. It's not just a dog, it's family.

Getting a new buddy tomorrow also, she is a 1 1/2 year old Saint...big baby girl she is. Will have lots of room here on my place....can't believed people get dogs that get this large, without a yard.......cute as a pup, but you have to know saints get huge.

I am very glad you are getting a dog. They read minds and help even when we do not realize we need some.

So, do you say 'butterscotch' every time you call her, or is there a nickname? cats are a tad slower and methodical than dogs... especially young dogs. I need to be able to shoot a name out and get her attention before something horrible can occur. I had a friend that named every dog 'Fred" that way he didn't have to run through all of the past dogs' names before he figured out his current dog's name and the dog got hit by a car or something horrendous.
I should name them all after my son because that seems to be the only name I can come up with quickly. years of experience.

So, last night as i was crawling into bed I said, ''I think that little dog will be a good family fit, but I promised the boy a younger dog. If we get her, then the perfect 'boy dog' will show up'' ....and the hubby said," I have already thought about that. I think we can handle four for a bit. We did it before, and it was a great group" and that is why we are still best friends after 26 years. we enable each other.
