You know how the media is..............I'm hopeful it won't be so bad but when the Gov ordered a state of emergency -

Well, we'll see.

About that earthquake - I was outside at the time and didn't feel a thing. BUT I was on my knees at my pond taking leaves out when the water swayed back & forth like it was gonna form a WAVE ! I thought "wow my fish must be getting big in there"
lol.png
I couldn't see anything in the water because it's covered in water lettuce and floating hyacinth - I couldn't figure that out until I came inside and DH said he thought I came in and kicked the back of the couch where he was sitting (as a joke) We found out later it was the quake.

It seems to me that anyone sitting down or leaning on anything structure wise must have felt the quake, walking around etc like me - didn't feel anything.

Stay safe everyone.

JJ - Are you're chickens going to be OK? I'm going to batten down the hatches around here and move any missile type objects out of the yard.

Coyote - How your fairing in NC??? Are you inland a bit??

I'm good. I'm more than half way across the state. They doubt we will even get any rain.

I'm worried about my folks however. They are down there in Cumberland County, NJ. If the storm comes in the way they are talking, the back-bays are going to get hit really bad. Could take out all those tiny town of Newport, Seabreeze, Fortescue, Plus the ones further down between the East Pointe and Cape May LightHouses. My folks live in a very low area just above the Maurice River and below Union Lake. If the dam that holds back the lake goes (it wasn't built to specs), it will take out everything in that little niche just west of the town of Millville. Do you think my father will go to my sisters up in Vineland who lives on much higher ground. NO! Plus there are shallow underground wells and streams all over that area which won't drain fast enough if the rain comes down heavy and fast. The alley behind our house, our neighbors lot, and another neighbors basement always filled with water during summer storms but would drain quickly after the storm passed.

I'm praying for ya'll. Praying Praying Praying!!

thanks ....guess it like a job you hate, you just get tired of dealing with it.....swear it like fixing a plate of pills for dinner, i take so many now about 27 a day

well, if it makes you feel any better, I do think of you and your struggle everyday.
I get so tired. Just 'stuff' that piles up and I see no joy in my future. So many dreams just crashed. Hope dead ...
Then I think of you, and coyote, and Luna, and dewy, and nurse, and Sara, and all the rest...I just pull myself out of it because you all know what the value of life is. I try because you all are trying so hard.
Promise me that when you are fed up and discouraged, that you will reach out for some love and encouragement from the rest of us, Okay?

From a stranger that you have never met, but cares when you are low.
