My prayers are with you all!

I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with an unidentified form of leukemia... I'm still learning so sorry if I use the wrong terms.
We lost touch after HS but we've recently spoke with each other about her battle.
Her bravery touched my heart so much that I'm now working on a gift for her and her 2 year old daughter. They've been apart so much with the Mom being in a hospital 2 states away. They miss each other so much!
So I'm making them matching pillows. They will have each other's pictures on the front of the pillows and a pocket in the back that will hold a photo album full of the other's pictures.
Does this sound like a good gift? Is it something you would want? Be honest.

So anybody here know of a good book for helping older teenager DD deal with the fact that her mom has cancer? She is taking it hard.

They get to hold each other as they drift off to sleep each night.
That sounds like a wonderful gift.
And that's my honest opinion!

The doctors told her that it's very common for couples to split up when one of their children is going through cancer treatment. How a father can leave a family in the middle of his child's cancer treatment is beyond my understanding. Of course my daughter and granddaughters had my husband and me and other relatives who were there for her. I went to most clinic appointments with them - and I babysat frequently and made meals for them frequently. Still - no one can take the place of a supportive spouse. By the way, my granddaughter is now 10 years old, off treatment since February 2011, and she's doing great.

If you have someone who supports you and is there for you through it - you are fortunate indeed. My prayers are with all of you who are battling cancer.

So Glad to hear she is doing fine now.....and sad that her father wouldn't be there for her.

Children fighting this disease.........is so hard to watch. That is where i got my strengh to fight. I almost just gave up on life after finding i had cancer. My DIL is a nurse and worked with children fighting cancer. She point out to me , These children can fight this, and you think you can't.

So that put me fighting cancer with all i can ....I owe it to all my love ones, to be with them as long as i can....yes we all have to go sometime, but i'm not ready yet.
