Congrats on being a healthy slightly less young coot!!! Don't take this wrong but I think you probably failed that hearing test long ago. My DH is 40 and fails!!! Mix that with selective hearing and well I might as well be talking to myself. Love him to bits though. I say keep right on doing what your doing and you will know when to slow down!!! Oh that colonoscopy thing isn't bad. I have had one every year for the last 20 years and one year had 5 of them. Piece of cake. Of course, they saved my life also.

My FIL is in his 70s and has had a few health scares- but you'd never know it.

He is the one who fixes the lawnmower, finishes projects that we find too hard to complete, and goes around on his tractor fixing the driveway, etc.

He brush hogs the back yard for us, makes us furniture, and on and on.

Actually he is more active than my DH and me put together.

He is smarter than about 25 normal people put together too. I cannot say enough about my FIL.

People in their 70's, they can do anything they want - all it takes is some pacing yourself and be kind to the bones.

Oh, and he is the one who chainsaws up my wood for me to split, after he hauls the dead standing logs from the back with his tractor.

Jeez, sounds like my doctor. I told him I wasn't going to do what he wanted me to, and he said "Hey, I've got an idea, lets pretend I did something by going to medical school ok?"

Oh geez. I'll be 39 in June and I am exhausted by 5 p.m. What does that say about me?!

DH's grandmother is 94 and lived by herself until she fell last week, breaking a hip and femur. I must say I am proud she was able to take relatively good care of herself (needed help with the house, which she had) until that happened. The thing is, all she was doing when she fell was taking a few steps between the sink and the fridge. Thank God she was wearing her little medical alert necklace and was able to push that button and get help. She was out of the hospital in 5 days and is settled into a skilled nursing care facility. Of course she will never be able to live at her home again, but that she has done so well is a miracle.

I'm glad you are healthy, Sourland George. In the end, that's all we can really ask for.
