Really pleased we have a new prince!

Just thrilled tonight so of course had to post. Sad that you guys in the USA don't have a Royal family at times like this.
It is good that Our princess was safely delivered and there was no problems with the birth.
Good size baby too! 8.6lbs.

Congrats !

Glad the baby makes you tickled!
And no, I am so glad we do not have a royal family.

Although, I do envy you guys having both the Dr. and Sherlock, ... And Gary Lightbody :)

Yeah I wish we had a royal family! It's very interesting.

Glad that Kate and the new prince are both doing well. I kinda wish it were a girl because then she would have been the first ever first born female in line for the throne. But it's just good that the baby was healthy (apparently) :)

I thought it was male first by default. Wasn't that why Henry kept trying for a boy?
Girls got the job only if the guy wasn't around for the job?
Isn't Anne older than Charles?
I do not know these things....and I suppose google has the answers.... off to surf.

yep, everything is on the net.
No, Charles was born in 1948 and Anne in 1950.

wikipedia:

..Daughters in male-preference primogeniture[edit]

''Daughters (and their lines) may inherit titles that descend according to male-preference primogeniture, but only in default of sons (and their heirs). That is, both female and male offspring have the right to a place somewhere in the order of succession, but when it comes to what that place is, a female will rank behind her brothers regardless of their ages or hers.''

Yeah, that's how it used to be but there are new succession laws now. So if the baby had been a girl iinstead of a boy it would have still been third in line for the throne. :)

I don't like the new succession laws. I am very pleased and glad we have a prince and NOTHING will change in the near future.
It is a long bloodline which dates back many years and brings with it such a great deal of history that is seldom found in any other country. If the line goes down the female then there is issues with blood lines and surnames and all that kind of thing. I am very much a traditionalist and a Royalist. We are very blessed here to have such a great asset. Some folk moan and complain and say ohhh they cost the tax payers money. But in truth they provide a wealth of revenue to our country. It is thought even this little tiny prince will make our country hundreds of thousands just because his name will be on something some one can make and sell. Yet still folk moan and that is pure jealousy. Our Royal family live life in a guilded cage, a goldfish bowl for all to see. If they buy new clothes they are accused of spending too much and if they wear hand me downs ( Queen wearing princess Margerets yellow suit comes to mind) They are accused of not spending enough???? Yes they live in lovely palaces but they do not personally own them - for example the Queen cannot sell them or anything else in them. They actually belong to the country and thus to its people. So those who are moaning actually are attacking themselves and the best asset we will ever have. I love my Queen and country and I strongly believe if folk cannot support our country and it's monarchy then they should not be able to live in the UK at all.

I am not entirely convinced that it is - ? Thankfully in this case we don't have to worry too much about that because we have a little prince so I doubt if it will change in my lifetime!

Not sure if you are referring to my post, but I think it is absolutely fair, but I am a gender equality person, so totally bias.
