So, Twila, Are YOUR Eggs Rocking?

I'm hoping to hear that they've started to pip tomorrow sometime. So, eight of the dozen Ameraucanas made it through, right?

Yes they are rocking themselves around in my bator. I even said something to my mom this morning about the eggs not being in the place where I placed them. I seen a few this afternoon wiggling around so I'm hoping tomorrow I have a few pips. I can't wait to see this little ones.

The other two I have are so cute. When I go outside to see them they come running and make a cooing sound almost like singing.

I really like my Ameraucana chicks. They are all-round the calmest, sweetest of my three breeds right from the start. Makes me wonder why I'm getting out of breeding them. There is a really adorable little smoky blue cockerel chick in the brooder right now who might make a nice breeder. Hmm, well, plans can change, can't they, LOL?

They are so cute I will try to get a few pictures tomorrow. It's the little black one that does it the most. I haven't named they yet I'm still trying to find just the right name. But if the little one keeps up the cooing it might be named Patsy or Reba or Maybe Miss Holiday! Or Elvis lol I'm still not sure if they are girls. I keep checking their feathers as they grow in.

Look at their combs. The boys have really wide combs and the girls are flattish with a center ridge the only one showing up. Here are mine as babies.
BOY, then GIRL at about 4 weeks old, then Scout himself, whose comb wasn't really pink, but was very wide at that age:

First impression is that blue chick = boy and black chick = girl, but I cant see the black one's comb that well, maybe a little glare or the angle. You may have to wait another couple of weeks and reassess the situation.

I hope the blue one is a boy! It was hard to get good pictures they wanted to keep turning their heads away from the camera.
