I have a bunch of eggs in my bator and they candled well a week ago. I calculate hatch day to be yesterday. One chick hatched thursday morning and none since. It looks like friday one of the kids in my house turned the incubator off so the temps dropped for an hour or two before I realized it. Down to the 80's I think when I checked. Of course, this was my most expensive hatch to date...

. Temps are stable now, but I am seeing no pips or movement.

What should I do? Sould I check them somehow? I fear they are all gone and I'm really upset cuz my fertile shamos were in there, I could just cry.

Thanks.

Completely in tears over it.

Just cracked an egg to see and it was fully developed but not living.

Thanks Laree, I'll wait on the rest tho.

I've been there. Last week I had 1 out of 40 hatch. Apparently the husband jackhammered on the other side of the wall for 4+ hours the day after I candled.

Poor eggies were jiggled to death.

Can you try doing the float test to see if any are viable? Might be a little less risky than cracking an egg that might have a live chick in it. I wouldn't give up yet either. Keeping

for you!

Thanks again Laree. I'll get over it...*sigh*.

dsgard, thanks, I think I will try the float test. I heard other chirping before the temp drop tho, so I'm not optimistic.
