You are doing an awesome job. Do the easier tasks first that way you can check them off the list quickly and your list will be smaller!

eggs... I know that was supposed to be a funny.. but I totally didn't get it... whizzed right past my head

Amy, Danielle & HappyChick.. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Fudgie... where would this dress be without you! I will, I promise. Both BREATHE and keep you updated.

I just got back from Hobby Lobby where they were OUT OF BLACK blanket trim

So I bought the 2" in black satin and will have to sew it together to make it work.. it just looks so much better with a thick ribbon.

I also grabbed some thin pink ribbon for the drawstring purse I hoped to get to.

Today I have to finish outside as it's to be below freezing for the rest of the week, and will be ontop of this first thing, after coffee.. tomorrow.

Just remember a brick road is paved one little brick at a time! So does every project we go through. One brick at a time. Remember that and if you get frustrated......... throw the brick through a window LOL! (hee hee i used to be a cheerleader in my former size 12 days so I am good at pumping up the mood!!!)

First I want to say, I know nothing about style so this may seem idiotic.

I got this drawstring "purse" with a gift and wondered if it would work for your purposes. If you think it matches well enough or is ok for the dress - it is all yours. I will never use it. It is faux velvet and has a square crystal decoration that is glued on. Just thought I would offer on the off chance it is of interest.

You are such a sweetie! I think it would match well, and we totally appreciate the offer!!!
If I can't get enough done by Friday, I'll email you about the purse and figure out when we can drive over to pick it up either Friday or Saturday.

Ok.. few more buckets of hot water and I'm off to get started!
Slit & zipper first today I hope.

Progress Update:

Ribbon Finished
Hot Glued the back of the grommets (they were scratchy)
Slit done
zipper almost done... turns out before I started I put in a pizza for me... well.. 3/4 of the way through I remembered it was in there

and made a mad dash for the oven

so.. I ate it anyway.. burnt cheese isn't so bad with ranch dressing...
now I must get back to work

Yeah! I'm putting it away for a little while, patience are starting to wear thin, as is my blood sugar levels

Zipper done.. just got her in and out of it again to make sure one last time and to re-pin the hem.
So tomorrow I have to do that by hand, in order to avoid catching the sheer on the front...
Attach two bows, two gems, 1 hook/eye closure at the waist & the waistband trim.
Tack down the liner for the top and the dress is finished!

Then comes the caplet... fortunately for me, I'm using a crushed velvet cape we used for Halloween once... WalMart type ya know? And I'm going to turn it inside out & pin the black jacquard fabric to it and sew those together. It'll be a nice matching velvet lined capelet (cut off around the waist) with a hood as it may snow on Saturday!!
