I agree about the too revealing. DD's dress we bought second hand and it was a little low for her but what can you do other than buy one. She is "endowed" and it is so hard to find a nice dress that is flashy and pretty. See here. This is what it was and it was absolutely gorgeous on her.

Edited to add: BF approved of this dress! He is quite concerned about his date showing too much! I am so glad for that! He is a good guy!!! and she is an awesome daughter!

Yesterday I basted(? a 4" straight stitch) the top skirt & under skirt together along the waist to make them easier to work with, and cut a piece of the black fabric to use as a trim or binding. This a.m. I have to iron that nice & flat and attach it to the waist of the skirt. Because the trim piece is iron on, I didn't think it would take to the sheer fabric, and didn't want to put it on the top piece, so making a waistband in the same width as the iron on trim made sense to me.

Also.. it was difficult to pin the skirt right to the top... I figured this way I could also just mark the waist on the top piece, and then lay the skirt right on it and sew it down with a pretty stitch. Then overlay the sparkley trim.

I hope this makes sense.

AND even with the lace up back, I still have to add a zipper to the skirt...
now for the BIG question...

DO I COMPLETE the skirt, with the zipper before attaching it to the top?
Or Do I attach the skirt to the top and THEN add the zipper up the back?
ADDED: Solution is to attach the skirt to the top because I need the zipper to END in the top...

Uh...
I have this ribbon.. with apparently adhesive on the back... it's the one you see with the gems & black stones that goes around the waist...

How do I attach this? I think I'm supposed to iron it... do I put something OVER the stones first to go between the ribbon & the iron?

And I like that you edited that last post. I was going to say ATTACH FIRST then put in the zipper. But you found that out LOL!
