So, what do we all do with our first eggs?

I'm getting some peewees right now from my 19 week old Dominiques, I save them for some children I know who think it's pretty special to have eggs just "their" size.
some peewee's I got yesterday.

There is no egg too small to eat. The little ones are great scrambled, hard boiled, put into French toast, etc.
This. I have bantam cochins who are great little layers so we're used to little eggs. So you eat 4 fried eggs for breakfast instead of 2. (Won't THAT give a cardiologist nightmares lol) Just adjust according to size with recipes. Or, if you have the time, they make great novelty devilled eggs!

Hey! All great ideas! I didn't get one today. I'm going to save my little eggs until I have enough for breakfast. I don't want to mix them with the store bought ones I have.

My hubby sent me this picture while I was at work today. He has a good sense of humor. Don't take the note seriously. He was just making it up.

our Japanese bantam just began laying. We have 3 tiny eggs so far. We decided to wait until we have a dozen, then make an omelete or scrambled eggs. :)

That is so funny!!!! My husband did almost the same thing to me! lol There is this video of Will Farrell yelling at baby chicks, it's explicit, but funny, well to me I guess! ;)

I saved all my first eggs until I had enough for "breakfast for dinner". I scrambled them so that I could taste just the egg and really see the difference in texture. My kids asked what I put in the scrambled eggs to make them such a deep yellow.

It was well worth the wait, too!

How about a 15 egg omelette?

The eggscitment doesn't end. I've had chickens for 9 years, I think; and I'm on egg watch again. Just this morning I was comparing eggs. (3 new pullets) I think my BO cockeral is laying.

Imp- apparently and thankfully it is not a cockeral

You guys are amazing!!! Saving them? cripes I fried the first 3 of them up in butter within ten minutes of exiting the vent, small or not, they were $500 dollars each....heh heh heh.....Now I'm on day 14 since the first egg i got a dozen total so far, l ate the first three $ eggs, 2 were duds and broke when dropped from the roost, and now I'm finally practicing patients....six tinys in the fridge and gathering momentum!
Yes they are small but pullet eggs are usually very rich and have nice little dark yolks yummy! The hard work and anticipation also make them taste wonderful!!!!
