OMG! I could not believe that she would send you OLD eggs! I used to buy a few doz of eggs from her a couple years back and had good hatches and beautiful chicks. She did pack them well and never had problems.

For the life of me, I can not believe she would do THAT!!!!! Now, thats BAD business!

Like the others suggested, get your money back....bad old eggs are unexcuseable!!!!

Sad but when you recieve eggs, check the ar cell, old eggs will have a large air cell. You can do the water test if eggs Float large end up,egg over 2 weel old.
Seller cant make sure you have a good hatch, but they cant do right on their end, fresh eggs and proper package.

Just to play devils advocate..........could anything that happened to them in shipping mess up the eggs (ie temp, time in transit, etc) ?

How is her feedback on eBay?

I sell cards on eBay (Magic, Pokemon, etc) and I had one package delivered that was folded in half to fit in her (buyers) mailbox. She didn't blame me (since it said fragile, and do not bend)..but she e-mailed me. I sent her a new batch in a box...not a manila envelope....just to be nice. (I like my 100% positive feedback and do all I can to keep it that way) Think she will re-ship?

I hope you get it worked out. And if you pay via pay pal there is some form of insurance (I bought some cards from Hong Kong that never arrived....$80 worth. Paypal refunded it to me. Just an idea....not sure it applies to eggs.)

Good luck! I hope she didn't just rip you off......ya know...hopefully she is not a bad egg. LOL Or a rotten apple....we don't want the whole barrel to spoil. (Does that happen with eggs?

Hi Jessika. I thought about the issue of how hot it is these days, but that still doesn't make sense to me. When we incubate eggs, they are in a 100 degree environment for 21 days. These eggs were in the postal system from Tuesday to Friday and one of the eggs was oozing and smelly when they got here. Six days later, the room is full of the smell of spoiled rotten eggs.....Somehow the eggs really could not have been fresh when they were shipped or they would not have gotten so far gone so fast....It doesn't make any sense. I'm not much for blaming, so I have tried pretty hard to figure out how this could be anyone's fault but the seller's.

Her feedback was okay. Not great, but I always give some slack for the people who might buy eggs and have a 0% hatch and think it is her fault. I have had several 0% hatches, and it never occurred to me that the problem was anything but mishandling during shipping. What happened to these eggs, just had to have been a combination with old age....I'm pretty sure.

I do not think the seller did any of this on purpose. I do, however, think that the situation got out of her control and she didn't have the resources/wherewithall to do it right. She really should have just decided to refund my money and refuse to ship me eggs at all. I'd have been mildly miffed but not....ticked off....

I'm generally a fan of eBay; my successes there have far outweighed my failures. This will not turn me against the system altogether. It was just a major drag....I HATE the smell of rotten eggs....yetch....

You check eggs in the incubbator at 7 days and remove any non fertile eggs so they dont spoil. Even at these high temp, they would not spoil that bad in 4 days. My guess you got those first 4 eggs.

Just so you ALL know.
The seller just answered me.
She is doing the RIGHT thing and refunding my money with apologies.

I can't believe it either! It must be the weather being so hot here in FL and wherever they are storing them on the way to you via the PO. I swear they were fresh! I will refund you regardless and apologize for your misery with these.

It was an upsetting occurrence, but I can't be mad at someone who says she is sorry and makes amends....

End of story....
Thanks for letting my rant on and on....

Sounds like she is doing her very best to be honest and upright as a seller. If I were the buyer, I would not leave negative feedback. I would leave a maybe a short sentence like "eggs not viable, honest seller, issued full refund" or something to that effect. I know as a seller and buyer, I've been on both ends of that feedback issue -- once when I had to go through Ebay's dispute resolution process to get my money back on a defective Yamaha keyboard, and once when I was unfairly left - fb because I left NEUTRAL f/b on a supposedly new blouse that was badly stained. Seller asked me to send it back to her (stupidly I did so w/o keeping the delivery confirmation ticket) and she said she never got it. Maybe, maybe not, but she could have left neutral as well. Oh, well, so be it. That's part of the whole scene of ebay or online auction shopping!
