Cupman, you are absolutely correct in your observation and I am only responding because I want you to know that although I do post in this section (especially the sensational and political) that most of my posts are chicken related and I find those postings to be educational and enjoyable. I post here because it is like putting crack cocaine in front of an addict. For my entire professional life I spent my time arguing in the Federal Courts all over this country about issues much the same as here. The exception is that in those cases the people arguing on the other side were educated and put forth well reasoned arguments. Here it is another story, but since I have been retired for some time I find the lure to argue almost irresistible, but in these cases, not as fulfilling or as profitable. Royd loves to talk about lawyers getting rich and fortunately I am and I did!! Remember that the best revenge is living well. I tip my cup to you cupman because in this post, as in many of your posts, you were right on.

Apparently, you cannot refute my point. Seems that's the attitude of the welfare class, too, as they head to the mailbox.

Kind of out of your comfort zone then where you cannot use legal procedure to argue your point in a controlled environment "objection your honor" does not work here pal. There are 2 paths to knowledge by repetition and revelation.

Capvin, are you saying you are doing what you were trained to do?
Out of my comfort zone you say...Not quite...before I went into law I did spend some time as a door guuner over the rice fields of Vietnam and over the South China Sea. I am quite comfortable in quite a few environments. I have killed with both words and bullets. And Royd, I not only do not refute what you say about lawyers, I am living proof and I revel in it.

1 jim crow laws were used by the democrats and kkk members to intimidate black voters. ok, forget the test.
2 i.d. card? everyone has one including poor blacks so whats the big deal? no voter fraud?
3 i certainly don't need a civics lesson from you but remember the congressional elections of 2010? the same thing will happen on the next election cycle. liberals will lose by a landslide.
4 its going to the supreme court where it will be found unconstitutional.
5 elena kagen has prejudiced herself and should recluse

I think you are letting your emotions impair your judgment. Love him, hate him, the current president is polling double digit leads on all of his opponents, has out-raised the other four candidates(combined) and hasn't started spending much on campaigning because the primaries are still going on. To say it's a slam dunk or a landslide at this point is awfully silly. The months leading up to November ought to be interesting to say the least.

I am not sure that something you did at 18 is relevant to this conversation. I have a cousin that was a doorgunner and he said there was nothing comfortable about it. I appreciate your service anyways.

As for the topic at hand lawyers were a big part of what got us in this mess so I would not pat yourself on the back too hard unless that is where you get your satisfaction or to use a legal term maybe it is your "intent" to get praise for what you have done in the form of a good pat on the back.

You seem awfully defensive towards a couple uneducated chicken owners while possessing such a fine education which tells me you are uncomfortable otherwise you would not need to defend yourself. The not guilty need no defense nor do they need explain themselves.

If you want to believe that anything that I have said can be interpreted as "trying to defend myself" so be it. And if you also want to believe that it was lawyers that got us into "this mess"..whatever that mess is, then I have no problem with that either and will certainly not try and dissuade you of those opinions. As for pats on my back no need, I get plenty of positive feedback...thanks anyway. However, as for being 18 when I was in Vietnam, I was 26 when I got there and did not leave until I was 28. Old enough and there long enough to make it real relevant to me, and besides, I still keep in practice.

I am sorry, but it seems we have now gotten completely off topic and, besides, I think we have taken this thread about as far as it could go. I done with it and signing off, but believe me, it was fun.

Fair enough.
