So what's everyone making for Thanksgiving???

Okay heres what we are having

18 lb turkey
8lb ham
mashed taters
mac&cheese
green beens
asparagus
gravy

cranberry sauce
cornbread dressing

dessert
cherry cheese cake
pumpkin pie
pumpkin rolls
keylime pie
pecan pie

I think that is it for now. unless I can think of anything else to fix. I would like to fix a sweet tater cassirole dh loves it but he said we didnt need it. Im feeding 6-12 people this year it all depends on where everyone goes. I know we are feeding 6 for sure. but I always make extra so I dont have to cook for a few days cause sunday is my birthday and I am not cooking!!! besides we have to take dd back to TN sunday and she will take leftovers back with her.

What am IIIIIIIIII making??

Walnut pies. With walnuts I gathered and cracked on the porch.

We'll also be having a couple turkeys, banana pudding, peanut butter pie, volcano cake, stuffing, corn, rolls, etc and etc.

SIL doin ham, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole & pumpkin pie
MIL doin cornbread dressing, peach cobbler
I'm doin roast turkey, mashed potatoes, pecan tassies & dinner rolls from Gumps Girl bread recipe
I'm sure there is more but...

My dh wants nothing to do with fowl this year and is asking for a steak.I will cook 2 cornish hen anyway. My mom said she would love some spicey wings.Dd will be happy with anything, and ds wants pizza.I will make the usual sides of stuffing, mashed potato, sweet potato, cranberry.Steamed veggies and salad. Not sure on the sweet stuff.Could do a pie with a side of frozen yogurt with probitocs.

And what do I want on thanksgiving? A DISHWASHER.No seriously I will be happy with a little bit of hen and sides.

I got a giggle out of the post that said "we are having one of the turkeys". Those poor turkeys are probably out in their pen, pointing a wing at one or the other saying, "uh-huh, not me~~~its YOU!!"

I am fixing a small turkey breast, just the three of us this year, with mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, hot rolls, a delicious cranberry/raspberry jello dessert that was my mom's, pumpkin pie, and probably banana pudding. Everything home made except the sweet potatoes, and the desserts and the turkey breast. I usually have a feast, but everyone has their own thing going on this year, so its downsized quite abit.

We're having the same th8ing that we have every year:

Since all my siblings, my mom, and I are all Vegetarians, we are having Vegetarian "turkey" (it's not real turkey; it's made from soy protein and it's DELICIOUS with meatless gravy!!!!), "Wham", which is a brand of Vegetarian ham and it's soooo good with pineapples and cherries!

And we are having stuffing, which my mom makes homemade, yams, cranberry sauce, buns or bread (that my mom will probably make homemade in her bread maker), Silk Nog (it's like egg nog but a little different, and in my opinion, tastes soooo much better than real egg nog! Especially when sprinkled with nutmeg or cinnamon). Oh and sweet potatoes. Probably some other things added like broccoli or something but that's about it. Can't wait!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow! I'm getting hungry!

We just do the basics, but it is so yummy!

We have turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, turnips, corn, green beans, home made butter, mashed 'taters, and some sort of dessert. My brother usually makes the corn bread and we typically have potato rolls too. On the turkey my mom puts yummy bacon to keep it moist and before our big dinner, we usually have cheese, crackers, and pepperoni.

I can't wait!

I am merely making an apple pie and a chocolate pie and rolls that I'll mix in the breadmaker. I'm bringing ice cream (both dairy and soy) and drinks. My DD's birthday is on Friday and so we'll sing happy birthday and have pie and ice cream. Obviously, we are not hosting dinner.

Okay, I've got 4 pies made (1 sweet potato, 1 apple, 1 cherry, and 1 chocolate creme), homemade stuffing (for the first time in my LIFE) is in the fridge, homemade orange-cranberry sauce (another first) is also in the fridge, green bean casserole (yet another 1st) is ready to go in the oven tomorrow, the turkey is still in the fridge (and still frozen....darn bird!), the rolls are thawed and in the fridge, sweet potatoes are in the fridge waiting to go in the oven. So I guess 'prep' work is done, only took me about 4 hours
