So when are they no longer "chicks"?

Is there a magic age when chickens go from being "chicks" to pullets or cockerels?
And when are they considered "full grown" hens or roosters?

I'm having a hard time thinking of my big 7 week old girls as "chicks". I mean, they certainly act like a bunch of gossipy teenagers!

I was wondering the same thing...my girls will be 8 weeks old tomorrow. They are a bossy bit of goods too.

I dunno conny because my girls are having a small moult now. They are dropping little feathers daily and getting their "big girl" feathers as I call them.

I hope one of the old hands comes in and answers this for us.

I think chicks are chicks until they start laying (around 5 months), then they become pullets. On their first birthday, they turn into "hens".

A cockeral turns into a rooster on his first birthday.
