If she was living by herself, she was either dumped or her entire feral flock was killed, so the OP made the right choice. This doesn’t sound like the same situation as the one in Hawaii, for example, where there is low predator pressure and ideal temperatures for the feral chicken flocks.

I don't know enough about the circumstances to comment further. It was just a thought.

Encouraging feral animals of any kind is never a good idea because they disrupt the eco system.
