My soap is hard! i gotta wait til 4pm tomorrow before it comes out of the mold to start aging, but its hardening very nicely imo. I didnt use Crisco, I used regular Armour Lard from publix. Publix has it all but they sure dont have it for the right price, I paid over $2.00 a lb for that. Now i know i can get 100% lard at the local Save-A-Lot store alot cheeper..Live and learn. If this turns out properly I want to make my next batch using Olive Oil, Goat milk soap, water, lye. I just have to get that digital scale and figure out the lye calculator.

Whats with all this pressing it down hard? Didnt know you are suppose to do that, I just covered mine. Is it to late to press it?

Tomorrow Im going to the store, I need to get some lard. I hope walmart has it, and Im pretty sure they do. Ive read that lard makes a nice hard bar of soap. I made a batch of honey and beeswax ( from my bees ), a batch of coffee, and a large batch of lavendar with dried lavender from my garden. Yum!

Crisco and lard make creamy soap. But if you want really good soap to nourish your skin make sure you invest in a littler higher end oils - like olive oil, shae butter, etc.
