wonderful eggnog recipe!
The one my Grammy taught me was basically the same, only a bit less fussy. She was a "tad of this", a "pinch of that" sort of cook and the recipe reflects it.
Separate yolks from whites. (how many depends on how small or large a batch you want to make)
Beat egg yolks well.
Add powdered sugar to the egg yolks until you can hold the bowl upside down and nothing moves.
Beat egg whites to a stiff peak forms.
Slowly, gently fold whites into yolk mixture.
Store in fridge until ready to use
When ready to serve, scoop a generous scoup of egg mixture into mug. Add hot water or warm milk and stir. Adults get bourban, rye or rum in their mugs. Top with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
