Soap Makers Help!

Ametaus, when you cut, use a very sharp chef knife. Do not use a serated knife as they take on a personality of there own when it comes to cutting soap. Hold your knife steady and flat with you dominant hand and place the other on top of the blade and push down. Keep the knife steady. I usually take a ruler and mark the bar with a pencil every 1 inch on both edges of the log. Makes it easier to cut uniform sized bars.

TM do a google search for soap mold plans. I have seen a couple of good ones online. They are easy to make.

Insiderart,
You know you want to soap. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

I did my best to work them throughtthe rest of the soap but I won't really see how it turns out until tomorrow. I didn't want to take pics of that mess. Sorry ladies no pics tonight. And I must by bigger bottles of EOs

1oz bottles just won't do, I MUST have more.

I think they look great. It looks a lot like confetti soap. What did you use for color and scent? I'm outta batteries, but I soaped lemongrass & rose, lemon verbena, cucumber melon and lavender 0atmeal guest bars. I haven't cut them yet. I've been too busy packing my mother's day bars. I still have to print and cut labels.

I love the little chicky on the lamp! How cute!

chiknwhisperer - I think they turned out great! Like Morgaine said, they look like confetti soap. That's one of the cool things about this hobby. What may seem like a flop to you since you were intending something else, can turn out quite lovely anyway. It's a perfect blend of science (the recipes) and art (the design).

And, since there's no one way to do art, your artistic design in the soap also has no one way to do it.

chiknwhisperer~I think it turned out very pretty and neat looking.
insiderart~you know it won't be long before you will be soaping again thanks to this bunch
ametauss~I use one of my quilters rulers to mark every 1" and then use a cheese wire cutter. They don't come out absolutetly perfect but I too like the rustic look
TM Chickens~If you look back at my postings of my mold and like it just let me know and I will gladly share how DH built mine
