Orange juice??? I thought I read somewhere that citrus is too acidic. I'm glad to hear that it works. Someone was wondering a while ago about using key limes.

Yep...takes longer to cure....I wait a week to cut. I do combine half and half distilled water with oj. NOT sure about lime or lemon juice...never soaped with those two. Just carrot, tomato, orange, coffee, was there another one...I'll think of it.

Cool, I have used pureed baby food carrots but not juice.

How did the lye react to the orange juice? Did you have to do anything special?

Yep, it was my first time and it was FUN!! I had a computer with me on the trip so I was participating on BYC here and there, but for some reason I had been unsubscribed from this thread since about a week or so before I left. I thought you guys were just all being quiet. I should have known better.

I'll post pix when I can. Hubby is at work right now and is off-loading the pix from his laptop onto a disk for me.

The Carrot Juice turns darker...but retains it's color
Tomato juice turns dark brown...but soaps back to a creamy PINK spaghetti sauce look.
Orange Juice darkens as I add lye much like the carrot juice...but soaps back to the yellow/lemon color. I've got a few bars...of it left....hang on I'll post photos so you can see colors. I do not have a tomato juice one though...need to make some.

I'm going to do a beer soap later this week. I've read that the beer really boosts the lather.

Can't wait to see the pictures.

Who was it that used crabapple juice to get a light pink? It's somewhere in this thread.
