Soap Makers Help!

Today I'm in learning mode. My sister requested a bar that is one side coffee scrub and the other side something moisturizing..so that she can pamper her feet.

I've never layered soap. How hard could it be?

We'll find out tomorrow when the unmolding takes place:)

When layering, I make two batches and pour one on top of the other with in 15-20 minutes. It's best to make both batches gel at the same time so they don't come apart later.

Can't wait to see some pictures!

I waited until the first batch looked like it could support another without the 2nd mixing in... an hour or so...I have my fingers crossed:)

Whatever is in my filter that day:) I do 4 lb soap batches... so I'm guessing 5-6 tbsp of grounds (used). Plus some liquid coffee and of course ...goats milk:)

Coffee soap is also GREAT for handwashing after you've been peeling/chopping onions or doing anything that causes your hands to be smelly. It has great anti-stinky properties!

Well I know what I'm adding to my next batch. I can't wait for my latest batch to cure.

Does anyone else like handling the bars when they are curing? I have to stop myself from touching them all the time!

I'm gearing up to soap this weekend...we are getting a little snow storm here and I'm looking forward to breaking out the soap pot!

Hope you all are well!!

PS I just added 6 brahmas, 2 golden laced wyndottes, 1 beautiful white frizzle, and a few Red Stars. Brahmas might end up in my soup POT! (-:
