I have always wanted to try those molds, but never have! Do you have any in particular that you like to use?

I just unmolded my first batch of Castile soap today! And I have a second lady that said she buy a bar as soon as its ready. Her daughter has extremly dry skin. Yeah!!!!

Everyone has done such a wonderful job with their soaps. Now, I want to start making my own soap. I would love to start with goat milk soap. I do have a question. I have been told that I can put the milk in place of the other liquids in the recipe. Is that true?

The recipe I thought I would start with is this:

10 oz milk (or water)
4.4 oz lye

14 oz soybean oil
8 oz cocoanut
8 oz olive oil
2 oz castor oil

I thought about putting in 8 oz milk instead for the 8 oz of cocoanut oil. Should I do this? Any ideas? I have lots of goat milk to use.

Thanks

Your goats milk isn't considered an oil so you can't swap the two. If you have a lot of milk to use, I would use the gm for all the water in the recipe. Pre measure the gm and then freeze in ice cube trays. Once frozen, slowly add your lye. You have to becareful, milk soaps are a little more advanced. But give it a try. You can also keep your bowl in an ice water bath to keep the temps cool so the lye doesn't burn the sugars in the milk. Good luck!

DH told me I instead of putting the money I make back into the soaping I can go ahead and put it into a collection we started so that we can get my tubes reversed
