It's not just about the lye fumes. First graders are impulsive, poor at judging risks, and _fast_. Unless you had one-to-one adults physically holding the children's hands, plus some sort of barrier, I just wouldn't feel safe with it at all.

Anybody working on anything. Currently i am waiting on supplies, have a couple events coming up. A farm market in roughly 9 weeks and a 3 day festival in 12 weeks. I have tons of soaps to make.

Hey! I'm just starting back up making soap. I have 2 batches curing and they are smelling yummy. I had a 3rd batch but botched the batch and pitched it...my kids said it looked like oatmeal and was ugly...lol.. I can always count on them to tell me the truth. I am just getting the basics down again...but plan to add more goodies to the mix later. I used to make bath cupcakes and they were good enough to eat...I may work up to that again. I work full-time nights now...so time is limited but I can always work on it at night when I'm off and everyone is asleep..lol.

I'm about to crank out quite a bit myself. My inventory is about exhausted. Just ordered 50lbs of coconut oil. I'll probably be ordering 35lbs of grapeseed oil here soon too.

Where do you mostly order your supplies from? I have usually ordered from Wholesale Supplies Plus and Bramble Berry. WSP is closer to me and usually cheaper. I'd like to find a good place for fragrances and EO too. I purchased some from eBay and I really like the scents that I received.

It depends really. I try to stay with one company, but it doesn't work out that way, lol. I use Bramble for a few things, WSP for equipment sometimes, nature's garden and I do a lot of trading with other soapers. Because we know that this is like chickens... buy too much and either don't like the product as much as you thought or you just get too much, lol.

Oh that's nice then! I just bought enough supplies recently to do a few batches again...I had a lot of stuff that went bad and had to toss a while back. I'd be glad to swap off stuff when I get some stuff.

Another alternative I've used with young ones and soap making is to shred CP soap and give each student a bag of shreds to make soap balls or soap rocks.
