Soap Makers Help!

I am addicted! I made my first batch of cold process yesterday and unmolded it this morning. It looks like it worked.

Have to order more oils today...

In addition to the soap sale at church this weekend, I sold another 18 bars yesterday, have another $100 order pending - just working out some details, and may have picked up a wedding!!!!

The wedding is going to be on the beach, so the bride is thinking about that as a theme. One of her colors is a blue, a little lighter than the color of the "welcome to byc" smiley. What are some good "beach-y" scents?

breconbcs Congrats onthe soap! It is so cool when it comes out right! lol Maybe you can get in on the next swap.

Backyard Buddies How exciting to do a wedding. I think any of the tropical scents would be beachy or something clean and airy. You could go real authentic and use a lot of sea kelp, although I doubt that's a smell the bride wants, lol. I think BB has one called salty mariner, but it might be another supplier.

I used coconut, olive and safflower to make it and had added some lavender EO but I don't think it was enough (I didn't have as much in the bottle as I thought) as they smell like 'soap' not even a hint of lavender.

Backyard Buddies here is a link to a site called scent finder . you could use it to find one and then check it out on the scent review board. I was also thinking if the bride has a favorite perfume or signiture scent, you could use that too.

I've been shopping for my oils this morning (still trying to decide) but came across the page for floral waters. Has anyone used these in place of water/milk with the lye? Just wondering if they have any other use than for linen spray and bath water.

You can use them but I don't know that you will get any benefit other than label appeal. I would try making an infused oil or water myself to see how it worked first.

I should be getting my order from Scent Works and Essential Oil University today!

I hope they include a free sample like Brambleberry does. I love the sample of Marrakech I got from them. I think I'm going to try a solid lotion bar with it (1/3 oil, 1/3 butters, 1/3 beeswax)

Last night I infused olive oil with calendula, chamomile, nettle and comfrey and rose hips in my crock pot on warm. It is really dark green. I think I'm going to try to make a salve from MLF site.
