It is my cucumber soap with dry lavender buds and topped with lilac flowers.

Don't know any of these personally as I've never soaped with them, but I looooove the smell of the Lemongrass EO that Morgaine sent me a sample of. Yummy smelling stuff!

As far as the vanilla, that they're calling it "warm vanilla sugar type" is an indication that they're attempting to copy the BBW's fragrance by that same name.

I just made a batch of lemongrass/sage soap for the dogs - helps to repel ticks more than fleas but helps with that too. I also use the lemongrass with bergmot and cedarwood for a flea soap and "massage" oil for the dogs. Keeps the fleas down and the mosquitos away from them too.

As for the cotton. If it's similar to the one I use (Clean Cotton), I LOVE it. It's got that fresh clean laundry smell. I'm going to make a batch to take to the FM with me to see how it goes, if they don't like it I'll use if for laundry soap. I used the FO to make fabric softener and the clothes smell sooo good.

By the sounds of it, that vanilla one is not plain but more of a sweet smelling one. I have one that smells sweet that I use to mix with. It smells soo good with Strawberry and Acai Berry when I tested them.

I'm glad that it sounds as if your MIL eventually saw your point of view on this one. There are a LOT of reasons to have your label on your soap - not only to announce your business, but because, well, the soap was made by YOU!

If she's worried about the issue of people who only "shop the expensive stores," I really think she need not worry. Although the kind of soap you make is handmade, the perception in regards to that is that it is BETTER because it is handmade rather than something less. Honestly, when people have turned up their nose at my soap, it's not because it's somehow less, but because they see it as a big splurge that they cannot afford when they can buy a detergent bar for $1.49 at the grocery store.

If she lets you, I'd love to see a picture of her gift once she's done wrapping it.

Edited because, apparently, I cannot type before 6 a.m.

She won't be giving it until about the middle of June but I will take a pic of it. I'm just not sure if these people will even keep the basket itself though. They'll probably keep whats in it but not it.
