Well chickn' I think the thing that you are erring on here, and only thing is in the ability to get the point across to your MIL that it is considered "boutique" to purchase handmade soap.
Maybe you just got too caught up in wanting her to keep them labeled like you have them pictured in your head. How about, creating a nice hang tag with all your info punch a hole in the end, wrap one soap with raffia or a pretty translucent ribbon, string the tag on, tie a knot. And then just give the batch to your MIL like she wants them. Make peace in the family.
Stick a small scent label with your business name to the back of each bar by brushing on a small bit of melted clear glycerine soap...
I know as an artist it's difficult when we have this concept in our head, to see things happen differently than we envisioned.
