I haven't even tried one at the market. I got my vertical log molds so I could make 2-13# special order. I've sold enough logs that the profit paid for the log molds, but not too much more than that.
I hear a lot of positive things from soapers that will bring logs to market and sell by the slice. I'm too busy talking and spinning (and I'm a terrible cutter) to do logs at market!
I made 3 batches of Black Raspberry Cream last night. Each batch I did a little differently. I'm not sure which one I like the best. I used alkanate root powder and french red clay.
CW- I also made some Grandma's Kitchen
I didn't have enough ground oatmeal though so I didn't add it, but this time it's not nearly as dark, I wonder if it was because I didn't have any vanilla in the milk this time.
Does anyone have any experiance making soap at a renaissance festival? I have two oppurtunities to be both a vendor and do demo's of soap making at two renaissance festivals, but I'm not quite sure of the particulars yet. Any advice?
I just put three batches of soap to bed. 2 Yuzu Grapefruits and one Wasabi. For the Grapefruit I tilted the mold onto it's side and colored with turmeric, which I may have used too much of because the color was much darker than I thought it would be. The top I left plain and added calendual petals. The wasabi I layered a plain white between two green layers. I'll post pictures in the morning.
